Skate Yorkton's Competitive skaters competed at the Sask Skate/ Sask Open event hosted by Skate Canada Saskatchewan. This event is attended by Team BC, Team Alberta, Team Manitoba and Team Saskatchewan.
Each province sends their top athletes to represent them in each category.
Members of Skate Saskatchewan's High Performance team Kailee Sawatzky and Nicki Nagy represented Saskatchewan in Sask Skate. Sawatsky competed in the Novice Ladies, while Nicki Nagy placed 2nd with her Pair Partner Justin Kacsmar in the Pre-Novice pairs, and also competed in the Pre-Novice Ladies.
Jessi Pastachak, Raegan Exner both members of the Sask First team and Jada Maduck and Braida LeNouail both members of The Competitive Development Team represented Skate Yorkton in Sask Open. Raegan placed 3rd in the Pre-Novice Ladies flight 2.
Jessica represented Saskatchewan last week in Paris, Ontario at the Isabelle Henderson Competition, Kaille and Nicki are leaving for Barrie, Ontario Oct.9-13 to represent Saskatchewan at Oktoberfest.
All of Skate Yorkton's competitive athletes are working hard for the upcoming Skate Canada Saskatchewan's Sectional Championships, Nov. 11-13.
