SHHS Senior girls hoops dominate

The Sacred Heart Saints Senior Girls Basketball team went 4-0 in their first tournament of the year this past weekend in Porcupine Plain. They kicked off the tourney with a close 34-28 win over Creighton.

They kicked off the tourney with a close 34-28 win over Creighton. Shayla Merriam, Morgan Shymanski and Hanna Hansen led them on the score sheet.

The Saints took Preecville to the cleaners in their second game on Friday, rocking them 68-15. Taneisha Roussin, Morgan Shymanski, and Kaitlin Inglis stood out in the offensive end.

On Saturday morning the Saints went head to head with the home-town Porcupine Bears. They won in a 32-25 thriller with Merriam and Inglis looking sharp again.

Sacred Heart wrapped up the tournament with a commanding 67-46 victory over Sandy Bay.

Prior to taking off for Christmas holidays, the Saints will travel to Swift Current this upcoming weekend, followed by a home exhibition game against Foam Lake on December 18 at 5:00 p.m.
