Scotiabank commits $300,000 in support of the community of Humboldt and the province of Saskatchewan

To demonstrate our support following the recent tragedy involving the Humboldt Broncos Junior hockey team, Scotiabank is committing $300,000 in support of the people of Humboldt, Saskatchewan and area.

To demonstrate our support following the recent tragedy involving the Humboldt Broncos Junior hockey team, Scotiabank is committing $300,000 in support of the people of Humboldt, Saskatchewan and area.

$50,000 of Scotiabank鈥檚 donation will be donated to STARS and will go directly towards ensuring they are there for future events and the next patient who needs their services.

The remaining $250,000 of the donation will be directed as we work closely with the community to determine where the need is greatest.

Three STARS helicopters and medical crews from Regina and Saskatoon were dispatched to the Humboldt tragedy. The STARS Emergency Link Centre coordinated, assisted and dispatched resources over an eight hour period, and STARS transport physicians provided hands-on care as well as guidance and assistance remotely.

STARS is聽 funded by individual donors, service groups, corporate donors and government contributions and聽 provides rapid and specialized emergency care and transportation for critically ill and injured patient, operating聽 from bases in Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg.

Scotiabank has had a presence in the Humboldt community for more than 65 years and we remain committed to the people of Humboldt and area. They are our customers, employees, friends, family and fellow Canadians.
