The Saltcoats school's second annual archery shoot hit the bullseye this past weekend.
"I was very happy with how everything went," said Saltcoats assistant coach Steve Farquharson. "It went smoothly and athletes did very well."
The archery event included over 110 shooters from four different schools: M.C. Knoll, Melville Comprehensive, Columbia, and of course, Saltcoats.
"We had a great turnout," said Farquharson. "More and more kids are getting interested in archery and are wanting to take part. It's great to see."
Farquharson believes archery will continue to grow in the area, especially because it's a sport that practically everyone has fun doing.
"It's a sport that everyone can try and most like," he said. "Some kids that haven't had a lot of success at other sports are really enjoying archery. I think it will continue to grow in the area as more kids try it out."
