The Sacred Heart High School (SHHS) senior football team met Foam Lake last Thursday and got a good reminder of how good that football team is.
"They're that good," asserts Trent Senger, of the SHHS team.
"The way their offensive line playswe couldn't put any pressure on their quarterback."
Foam Lake scored early and often and also reminded the SHHS of all the talent they lost due to graduation last year.
"I expected it to be a tough game," he adds of the 46-0 shutout win by the Panthers.
Senger told the media he was disappointed with his team's lack of aggression.
"We played every player that we have. We can't even juggle (it) anymore."
He said the time that passes between Foam Lake and their next game, they need to spend reviewing game film.
"Certain plays we are going to have to watch on film," he said, sounding like a scientist who believes he can correct the problem, which is a severe lack of aggression, he believes.
"We had a couple of nice passes but we're just not physically that big."
SHHS lost a lot of size and skill after last year's season and couldn't make up for it against Foam Lake.
"We're going to take our lumps."
Senger said his team and the junior team are expecting to host a night time game scheduled for Oct. 12 at beginning at 2 p.m., with the junior game and the senior team playing following that.
