The YRHS Raiders senior boys' basketball team has been awarded the SHSAA Sportsmanship banner.

The Yorkton Regional High School Raiders senior boys' basketball team was awarded the Sportsmanship banner by the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association this past week.

Every year SHSAA awards the banner to one boys and girls basketball team that took part in Hoopla. It is given to teams that standout for playing hard with respect and class.

"It's the third Sportsmanship banner our school has been awarded in the last 10 years, so it shows our school has had some really respectful athletes over the years," said Raiders head coach Jason Payne. "I'm proud of how the team treated the officials and other teams with respect. It's nice to see their good behaviour not go unnoticed."

The Raiders captured bronze at 4A Hoopla in Saskatoon this year.
