Highlights from around the Yorkton Regional High School over the past week:
-Raider football: Final score was 42-20 at Swift Current against the Colts. It was their first time playing at the Swift Current field. Head coach Roby Sharpe said that the team came out flat but answered a Swift Current field goal with a touchdown en route to the win. Their next game come on Oct. 9 at Century Field where they will be looking at finishing the season at 6-1.
-The steak sandwich winner is Peter Kozushka.
-Congratulations to the Gr. 9 girls volleyball team #2 for winning silver at the Sacred Heart High School tournament Thursday night.
-Hats off to the YRHS cross country team. The team took part in the East Central District championship in Melville on Thursday (Oct. 4).
All 14 Raider runners that attended Melville have qualified for the provincial meet. Highlights include: Brandey Blahut, gold medal, senior girls; Graham Campbell, bronze medal, senior boys; TJ Mc Bride, gold medal, midget boys; Haylen Langelier, silver medal, midget boys; Jaden Porte, gold medal, junior boys; Roma Zulyniak, silver medal, midget girls; Kellie Onda-Inglis, bronze medal, midget girls; Jennifer Haczkewicz, gold medal, bantam girls.
