The Cab Clothing Yorkton Regional High School Male Athlete of the Month for November is Jason Blommaert. A Gr. 12 student who has maintained a good academic average, has special interest in both construction and welding. Since his days at Columbia School where he played on the volleyball team, he has worked his way up to the Raider ranks, where he capped off the season in November with the Alex Robichaud Memorial Award. The Cab Clothing Yorkton Regional High School Female Athlete of the Month for November is Brandey Blahut. A Gr. 11 student who has maintained a high-90 average in her classes, is spending her time these days on the courts with the senior girls basketball team. Other athletic interests include the cross country running team where she continues year in and year out with success under her belt. During this year's Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association (SHSAA) provincial meet, Blahut placed in the top 15 at provincials. On top of basketball and running, she also starred on the volleyball court. Outside of YRHS athletics, she is the External Publicity Director on the S.R.C. and plays in the concert and jazz bands. Outside of school, she is working on her Gr. 9 piano, and enjoys spending time with her friends and snowboarding. Blahut also found time to help coach basketball last summer and will also help out reefing elementary school basketball. She wishes to thank her family, all coaches, and especially Mr. Hayden for all his extra hours helping to train for the current basketball season.
