The Bob Lebo rink of Preeceville won the first event of the Stenen Annual Open Bonspiel which was held from January 29 to February 5 with 17 teams participating.
Members of the Lebo rink were: Bob Lebo (skip), Glenda Jeffreys (third), Laura Pasiechnik (second) and Daryl Hanson (lead).
In the final game, the Lebo team beat the Todd Griffith rink of Norquay, which was comprised of Todd Griffith, Laura Sopel, Chelsea Will and Marcia Griffith.
The second event was won by the Ken Bazansky rink of Stenen, featuring Ken Bazansky (skip), Garret Baziuk (third), Tom Baziuk (second) and Eileen Baziuk (lead). They defeated the Brian Kowalchuk rink of Crystal Lake which included Brian Kowalchuk (skip), Kelly Maupin (third), Karen Maupin (second) and Karen Kowalchuk (lead).
The third event was won by the Dale Lisoway rink of Stenen with Dale Lisoway (skip), Bob Reid (third), Garry Lisoway (second) and Harry Prekaski (lead). They defeated the rink of Wyatt Smith (skip), Terry Burym (third), Dallas Burym (second) and Ron Burym (lead).
The bonspiel banquet was held on February 3, said Brenda Lisoway, an organizer. 鈥淚t was a fun evening which started out with a wonderful roast beef supper which included perogies, cabbage rolls, potatoes, gravy, various types of salads and wonderful desserts.
鈥淎fter the meal, the attendees were entertained by the annual Stenen bonspiel auction,鈥� Lisoway said. 鈥淭he community of Stenen pulled together to once again put on a fantastic event.鈥�
