Preeceville peewee hockey team fights in league playoffs

The Preeceville peewee hockey team, which had its provincial dreams dashed with a double loss to Kipling on February 19 in Kipling and then again in Preeceville on February 21, are now focused on league playoffs.

            The team faced Ochapowace on February 23 in Ochapowace and enjoyed an 8-2 victory.

            Scoring for the Pats were Keannu Albarracin (two goals), Seth Hort, Chaz Jaeb, Kaiden Masley, Tate Bayer and Brynn Babiuk. Assists were by Archer Franklin, Issac Kashuba, Trever Geistlinger, Keannu Albarracin, Chaz Jaeb, Seth Hort, Isaiah Maier, Hudsyn Nelson and Kaiden Masley.

            In the second game, held in Preeceville on February 26, Preeceville defeated Ochapowace with a final score of 7-4.

            Scoring for Preeceville were Trever Geistlinger and Kaiden Masley, with two goals each, Issac Kashuba, Tate Bayer and Chaz Jaeb. Assists were by Chaz Jaeb, Issac Kashuba, Zachary Sorgen and Kaiden Masley.

            Other playoff hockey action featured the novice, bantam and midget teams.

            The novice hockey team defeated Esterhazy in Preeceville on February 12 with a 6-4 win. Scoring for Preeceville were Bracyn Konkel (three goals) Trae Peterson, (two goals) and Avyn Seerey. Assists were by Carsyn Galiz and Trae Peterson.

            The bantam hockey team defeated Melville with a final score of 9-4. Scoring for Preeceville were Dylan Wiwcharuk (five goals), Todd Pankratz (two goals), Shae Peterson and Peyton Shewchuk. Assists were by Wyatt Anaka, Grady Wolkowski, Dylan Wiwcharuk, Shelby Wallin and Jillian Tonn.

            The midget hockey team lost to Fort Knox in Preeceville on February 19 with a final score of 4-3. Scoring for Preeceville were Peyton Shewchuk (two goals) and Curtis McGriskin. Assists were by Hunter Shankowsky, Elijah Hort, Noah Watson and Taryn Broda.
