The Preeceville Panthers celebrated their first win of the season against Kamsack on September 16. The first game of the season for the Panthers was a home game with a large crowd of fans cheering the team on for 20-18 win.
鈥淚t was a very close game with both teams looking for a first win,鈥� said Jeremy Mattison, coach.
鈥淲e have a young team this year and it is a rebuilding year team. The Panthers started out slow and unsure of themselves but as the game went on, the players built their confidence in themselves and as a team.
鈥淲e need to work on some areas as there is always room for improvement,鈥� said Mattison. 鈥淭he next test will be against Wynyard on September 24.
鈥淒espite having short bench, the team did great and we hold the players to a high standard.
鈥淭he defence and offence are working well together and the season looks very promising,鈥� Mattison said.
