Coach Darrell Sobkow and his Clean Spot novice hockey team are getting ready for upcoming playoff action. On Feb. 27 they head to Langenburg.
On Feb. 29., they play the Thorsness novice Terriers at the Yorkton Kinsmen Arena.
Clean Spot and Thorsness are joined by the Farrell Agencies Terriers in a five-team pool, each competing to accumulate the highest number of points. Farrell Agencies leads all team with eight points. Also included in the pool is Langenburg and the Moosomin Rangers white team.
The Thorsness and Clean Spot Terriers are even at press time at four points each.
Langenburg is next with two points while Moosomin has bee shut out as of Feb. 24.
On Feb. 19, the Clean Spot Terriers took to Moosomin to play the white Rangers.
Yorkton made off with a 12-5 win.
Josh Herzog led the way with five goals, two came in the second period and teammate Kaden Dycer scored four times in the win.
Kyle McGonigal did all of the damage for the white Rangers, scoring five goals, two came unassisted and Ty Cutler had two assists.
Other Yorkton scoring included Dylan Kolesky, Garrett Ellis and Colby Lees, all coming in the opening period.
In the second period, both Dycer and Herzog scored twice and Tyler Shannon added one. Dycer was the lone Terrier to record an assist in the second period.
Dray Sobkow won another game in net.
