Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association 9-man football action continued with Week 4 play on Monday as the Sacred Heart High School (SHHS) junior/developmental football team won handily over the Moosomin Generals at SHHS field.
Head coach Darcy Todos was impressed.
"I thought that execution on both sides of the football was absolutely fantastic. We are 4-0 this season."
Last week, SHHS coasted to victory over the Cobras, this week, they crushed the Generals.
Todos introduced QB Bryan Buzinski to the media.
"It was great," says Buzinski of the win. "Our offensive line was really good."
The pivot said he prefers to throw the ball for "a big gain" rather than go for the handoff, and added that he was very impressed with the play of the Generals who were able to answer back on several SHHS touchdowns.
"They were great for their first year in the league."
He added that he thought the officials are doing a good job helping them learn the plays that will draw penalties and keeping onside, etc.
On the other side of the football, middle linebacker Brody Kormos was also impressed with the game, said the SHHS juniors are looking good so far and that his intention is to go out there and "hit" someone.
He too was also in favour of the officiating in the 9-man game.
"They're letting us play. They're reasonable."
Coach Todos said the team is also in the process of "moving people in and out of spots" and the players are "really learning well".
The SHHS juniors have two games coming up within a seven-day timespan, Coming up on Monday, they head to Melville to charm the Cobras before returning to home turf two days later (Oct. 3) for a 4 p.m., kickoff.
