This weekend's lacrosse playoff matchups have been finalized for the opening round, taking place in Saskatoon July 13-15.
Playoffs in the Prairie Gold Lacrosse League begin with a single round then winners and losers will play at least one more game to determine where they will finish.
The Saskatoon Smash and the Saskatoon Steelers battled hard this past Saturday night to determine where they would finish and Yorkton awaited to determine where they would finish.
The Smash and Steelers played to a 12-12 tie.
The Steelers tie the Yorkton Bulldogs in the standings but because of a 9-8 victory the Bulldogs had over the Steelers in the regular-season, Yorkton remains in sixth place.
That sets them up with a playoff matchup with the Regina Rifles Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
The Bulldogs hope to have team leading scorer Justin Genaille in the lineup.
Genaille sits in the top-10 in PGLL scoring with 34 points overall through 10 games, with 22 goals and 12 assists with an average of 3.77 points-per-game.
There are five other Bulldogs that finished with at least 10 points through the regular season
Games won't be easy for Yorkton as they will be facing a Rifles' team with two players in the PGLL scoring leaders.
Tristan Frei led the league with 68 points, including 40 goals.
Only Estevan's Rhett Handley finished close to Frei, with 37 goals through the regular season. Frei also scored 12 goals on the man advantage.
