The Yorkton peewee 'AAA' Cardinals are set to host the provincial AA tournament on July 19-21 at Jubilee Park.
"We are excited to host the event," said tournament manager Brent Repsch. "We hope to have a lot of people out to the diamonds to support our Cardinals and watch some good baseball. We have a very talented group of kids and a lot of other quality ball clubs will be there as well."
The 'AAA' Cardinals are allowed to take part in the 'AA' provincial tournament because that's the category of ball the population of Yorkton places them in.
During the regular-season, the Cardinals play in Regina peewee 'AAA' league.
The Cardinals are in the Pool 'A' category with the Martensville Mustangs, North Battleford Beavers, and Weyburn Beavers. The Pool 'B' consists of the Humboldt Dodgers, Swift Current Indians, Lloydminister Twins, and Prince Albert Royals.
Yorkton opens up the tournament against Martensville On July 19 at 12 p.m. at Jubilee Park. On July 20, they play North Battleford at 9:00 a.m. and Weyburn at 3:30 p.m. The playoffs start the following day.
