The AAA Yorkton Harvest Hockey Club headed out on the road for the first time this season, making a stop in Tisdale, where they were stopped with a 2-1 decision that went into overtime.

The game saw two goals both scored in the opening period, 27 seconds apart then two periods with nothing but penalties.

Tisdale would get the win when Rylan Freed would end the game .51 seconds remaining in overtime.

Cole McBride had opened the scoring at the 14:47 mark of the first period and Yorkton's Eric Meyer got at 14:20 to draw even, assisted by Lynndon Pastachak, which would end up securing Yorkton's third point of the season as the game went into overtime.

Freed's goal came on a power play to win the game in the extra frame.

Goaltender Carson Bogdan gave up both goals in the loss, having faced 30 shots on net.

Cody Murray got the win in net for the Trojans, stopping 32 of 33 shots.

Yorkton outshot Tisdale in periods one and two, 11-8 and 11-6 but took it bad in the third with a 14-8 deficit.

Both of Tisdale's goals came on the power play which gave them 50 per cent efficiency, having four opportunities in total. Yorkton had six but couldn't connect at all.

The Harvest were coming off their fifth loss on home ice this season but have now played back-to-back games where they outshot the opponent but still lost the hockey game.

On Oct. 17 at the Farrell Agencies Arena, they managed at least 10 shots on net in each period but gave up two goals in each period, in a losing cause to the Hounds of Notre Dame, 6-2.

Yorkton outshot the Hounds 38-28 and were slightly better on the power play but couldn't get anything else going.

Daniel Wanner and Egor Popov gave the visiting Hounds a 2-0 lead before Dakota Odgers scored both goals for the Harvest. The next game for Yorkton will be this Saturday.
