Brett Meberg of Preeceville officially took over the Preeceville Seed Cleaning Plant on April 1.

Meberg has vast farming knowledge and decided to expand into the seed cleaning side of agriculture. Meberg is in partnership with his wife Alynn Meberg. The plant is located approximately a half mile south of Preeceville.

"The opportunity came up when Brian Neufeld retired and wanted to sell it," said Meberg. “It is a learning experience for us but we are glad that we have Brian on hand to offer his expert advice.

“We are doing custom cleaning work for all agricultural crop producers. Brian has the plant set up to operate at a very efficient pace," said Meberg.

The seed cleaning plant was built in 1954 and owned and operated by Carl Tonn until Tonn sold the business in 1970.
