Yorkton RCMP seize firearms after report of break-and-enter

Search warrants were executed at the residence later that day and officers located and seized an illegally-modified firearm.

Officers located and seized an illegally-modified firearm, a semi-automatic firearm with a silencer, a high-capacity magazine and a small amount of white powder that will be identified through laboratory testing.

YORKTON - On Sept. 25, at approximately 8:15 a.m., Yorkton RCMP received a report of break-and-enter in progress at a residence on Myrtle Avenue in Yorkton.

Yorkton RCMP immediately responded and arrested four individuals at the residence.

Three of the four arrested provided false information to police officers upon their arrest.

Investigation determined a group of individuals came to the residence and forced their way inside.

Search warrants were executed at the residence later that day and officers located and seized an illegally-modified firearm, a semi-automatic firearm with a silencer, a high-capacity magazine and a small amount of white powder that will be identified through laboratory testing.

The investigation continues with the assistance of Yorkton RCMP’s Municipal General Investigation Section.

39-year-old Lewis Starr of Sandy Bay, Manitoba is charged with:

- one count, break and enter, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code

- eight counts, possession of weapon contrary to an order, Section 117.01(3), Criminal Code

- one count, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(2), Criminal Code

- one count, obstruct peace officer, Section 129(a), Criminal Code

Starr will appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Sept. 29.

28-year-old Austin Houle of Sandy Bay, Manitoba is charged with:

- one count, break and enter, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code

- one count, possession of weapon contrary to an order, Section 117.01(3), Criminal Code

- two counts, fail to comply, Section 145(5)(a), Criminal Code- one count, obstruct peace officer, Section 129(a), Criminal Code

- one count, obstruct peace officer, Section 129(a), Criminal Code

Houle will appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Sept. 28.

19-year-old Theashaye Richard is charged with:

- one count, break and enter, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code

- one count, obstruct peace officer, Section 129(a), Criminal Code

Richard will appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Oct. 31.

38-year-old Kimberley Nasee of Sandy Bay, Manitoba is charged with:

- one count, break and enter, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code

Nasee will appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Oct. 31.
