Vintage car show attracts many enthusiasts

Automobiles from across the region were showcased for their vintage and newer treasurers with the public at the Sturgis Sports and Rodeo.

STURGIS  -A car show and shine that attracted vintage car enthusiast was a huge success with 25 entries during the Sturgis Sports Day on June 25.

“It was another great show with a lot of support from the local and surrounding area,” said Bob Bartch, organizer.

The top four fan favourite awards were voted on by those in attendance. 

The top People’s Choice was won by John Dvorak of Swan River (1950 Ford Coupe). Iona Hleboff of Canora was the second-place winner for her 1976 El Camino. Danny Suchoplas, of Swan River won the third People’s Choice award for his 1971 Mustang. The fourth award went to Gene Keyowski of Canora for his 1958 Edsel.

Other entries featured, Bob Bartch of Sturgis (Rover), Phil Murrin of Preeceville (1969 El Camino),  Carl Steciuk of Yorkton (Dodge 100), Peter Tait of Swan River (Corvette), Gene Keyowski of Canora (1962 T-bird), Iona Hleboff of Canora (1981 Camaro), Michael Andrusko of Sturgis (1953 Minneapolis), Napoleon Dymtriw of Canora (1955 Pontiac), William Rehaluk of Canora (1979 Cadillac), Dave Kobelka of Canora (1972 Chevelle), Iona Hleboff of Canora  (1981 Camaro), David Wasyliw of Canora (1975 Monza), Tyrell Yagelniski of Hyas (1975 Co-op Implement tractor), Brian Kusheruk of Buchanan (1950 Chev Delivery), Eric Kusheruk of Buchanan (1972 Dodge Charger), Lee Ash of Canora (1970 MGB), Charles Clark of Sturgis (1967 Barracuda), Rick Strykowski of Preeceville (2019 Indian motorcycle), Joe Chubak of Canora (1940 Dodge Coupe), Ted Corbett of Benito (1935 Dodge Coupe), Mitch Franshycn of Rockford (1949 Diamond T), Chad Ritco (2002 Camaro), and Kevin Haro of Canora (1970 Montego).
