SASKATOON - A trial is set for December in Saskatoon Provincial Court for a woman facing numerous weapons-related charges.
The Saskatoon Guns & Gangs Unit arrested 21-year-old Madisson Starchief in April when the Tactical Support Unit evacuated a multi-unit dwelling in the 300 block of Avenue R Â鶹´«Ã½AV after receiving information that there were people inside with firearms.
During their search of the residence police found a loaded, sawed-off rifle and ammunition.
Starchief was charged with carrying a concealed weapon or prohibited device, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a purpose dangerous to the public, two counts of careless use of a firearm, two counts of possession of a weapon obtained by the commission of an offence, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon without a license, two counts of possession of a firearm, cross-bow, prohibited weapon or restricted or prohibited device, ammunition or explosive substance while prohibited, false pretenses, nine breaches, and two counts of being unlawfully at large.
The charges against Starchief haven’t been proven in court.
She remains in custody.
