The Trent Paul Memorial Spirit Award, dedicated to honour the passion and spirit of Trent Paul, was recently awarded to first-year pharmacy student Japheth Bool. Bool is enrolled in the College of Pharmacy program at the University of Saskatchewan.

Paul family members, Bonnie Paul, Shannon Nelson, Hudsyn Nelson, Trenley Nelson and Camryn Nelson of Preeceville traveled to Saskatoon to present the award.

"Ten years ago we lost a very special man in our lives," said Shannon Nelson, sister to Trent Paul. "Trent past away after a 20-day hospital stay in the Regina General Hospital following a snowmobile accident."

Trent had graduated from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan in 2006.

聽"He held a special spot in the hearts of all those who knew him,鈥 said Nelson. Because of the passion and love he had for pharmacy, the College of Pharmacy felt the need to express his importance for many years to come. They decided to rename the spirit award that is presented to a remarkable student/person in the college to the Trent Paul Memorial Spirit Award.

In honour of this special award, his family was invited to present the award each year to the recipient.

"This is an exceptional way to remember and honour a remarkable man," concluded Nelson.
