November 29, 1979- Wilf's Machining and Welding, a new business for Sturgis, is operated by Wilf Ludman, formerly of Dauphin.

April 8, 1976- The Preeceville branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation held its annual banquet at the West End Hall.

January 18, 1973- D.G. Pollock Agencies in Sturgis, an insurance agency which was owned and operated by D.G. (Bucky) Polock for the last seven years, changed hands as it was bought by Len Morrow and will be known as Morrow Agencies.

January 11, 1979- Jack Hagemeister, a native of Preeceville, is among the five who were named Queen's Counsel at the year end by Attorney General Roy Romanow.
