December 8, 1977- A proposal by the Local Employment Assistance Program to finance a greenhouse and group homes for handicapped people at Sturgis was turned down by a steering committee who were looking into the proposal.

November 11, 1971- Curling fees for the 1971-72 season were set at the same rate as charged the previous year at the Preeceville Curling Club.

June 13, 1974- The annual inspection of Air Cadets Squadron 606 was held in Preeceville with Captain Frank Arnie instructing the squadron.

October 9, 1969- ThePreeceville Progress tied for seventh place with the Herbert Herald., the Broadview Express and the Grenfell Sun in the 1968 Best All-Round Saskatchewan Weekly Better Newspaper Competition.

December 14, 1978- Trophies were presented at the Sturgis branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation annual trophy night.

December 11, 1975- A total of 209 Division 1 and 2 students of the Preeceville Elementary School concluded a 3,000 kilometre, Run to the Olympics marathon.
