Teens face multiple charges after firearm discharged into Saskatoon residence

No one was injured when a firearm was discharged into a residence.

SASKATOON — An adult and two youth were arrested by the Saskatoon Police Service after a firearm was allegedly discharged into a residence in the 3100 block of Laurier Drive.

SPS officers responded to the scene at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of an unknown problem that involved the suspects, who allegedly possess a firearm.

Officers who first arrived on the scene saw three males walking directly outside of a multi-unit complex. Two of the three suspects fled on foot despite receiving verbal commands to comply.

The third teen immediately complied and was arrested, while the two who fled were located and arrested a short distance away by responding officers.

Subsequent investigation confirmed that a firearm had been discharged into a residence in the area; no injuries were reported as a result.

An 18-year-old adult is facing charges relating to the intentional discharge of a firearm reckless to the life/safety of another person, unlawfully prowling at night, and committing mischief by willfully damaging property.

Upon arrest, a 17-year-old boy was found to possess a large quantity of ammunition. He is facing charges relating to the intentional discharge of a firearm reckless to the life/safety of another person, unlawfully possessing ammunition, unlawfully prowling at night, and committing mischief by willfully damaging property.

Upon arrest, a 15-year-old boy was found to possess a small quantity of ammunition and a loaded sawed-off rifle. He is facing nine firearms-related charges in addition to unlawfully prowling at night, committing an indictable offence while masked/disguised, and committing mischief by willfully damaging property.

All three are being held until they can be brought before a Justice of the Peace or Judge.
