Sturgis youth continues to shine in hockey career

Hockey great Tare Peterson excels with hockey dreams through hard work and dedication.

Trae Peterson of Sturgis received an all-star award in the Graham Tuer tournament held in Regina on Oct. 26-29. The award was chosen by Western Hockey League scouts.

STURGIS - Trae Peterson from Sturgis is a member of the U15AA Sask East Oilers, which is comprised of players from the Yorkton, Melville and Moosomin areas. 

The team competed at the 32-team Graham Tuer tournament in Regina from Oct. 26-29. The team lost in the A side semifinal in overtime. In the tournament, Peterson finished with 15 points in just five games, earning a tournament all-star award.

This award is chosen by the Western Hockey League (WHL) scouts. Peterson was one of five players selected for this award, chosen out of the 32 teams.
