Sturgis Station House Museum opens for another season

The Sturgis Station House Museum opened for another season on June 2 with a welcoming tea. Sarah Brown is the museum curator for the season. A summer student is scheduled to be hired.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 "This season we are hoping to reorganize items for better accessibility," said Brown. "The gift shop has moved to the front of the museum and has a variety of new items for sale.

鈥淲e are also moving the research library so that it will provide more access to the historical tapes. A lot of the exhibits will get a refreshed look," she said.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The museum plans to focus its efforts on reorganizing the upstairs rooms in the near future.

鈥淲e continue to receive artifacts,鈥 she said. The most recent artifacts include a 1918 newspaper that features the end of the First World War and memorabilia from the bowling alley.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The museum will feature two farmers鈥 markets with the first one being in July, she said. It is scheduled to celebrate Canada鈥檚 150th birthday with entertainment for adults and children鈥檚 activities.
