Sturgis Kinsmen gearing up for 38th annual Mini-Miracle

The Sturgis Kinsmen and Kinettes are preparing their 38 th annual Mini-Miracle and organizers have said they have a full stage of talent lined up.

The Sturgis Kinsmen and Kinettes are preparing their 38th annual Mini-Miracle and organizers have said they have a full stage of talent lined up.

The annual Mini-Miracle is scheduled for March 1 at the Sturgis Composite School, said Eugene Boychuk, a Kinsmen member.

"All monies raised at the annual Telemiracle, which includes the amount raised during the Sturgis Mini-Miracle, goes directly towards the local individuals in the province who require assistance," said Daniel Wasylenchuk, co-chair of Sturgis Mini-Miracle.

Sturgis Kinsmen Mini-Miracle has raised $858,002 over the past 37 years, Boychuk said.

鈥淧eople can call their pledges into the Sturgis Composite School or give their donations to participants along the road through the hospital bed push or mini marathon events,鈥 he said.

The Preeceville Hospital is once again gearing up for its annual bed push on March 1. The bed push will leave approximately at 2 p.m. from the hospital and make its way downtown and along the highway to Sturgis. The proceeds will be presented at the Sturgis Kinsmen and Kinettes annual mini-Telemiracle, which will be broadcasted live on CJGX-94 radio station on March 1.

The Sturgis Kinsmen will also be collecting donations along their marathon run from Canora to Sturgis on that same day, he said. The marathon of Sturgis Composite School students, SRC members and Kinsmen members will leave Canora approximately at 11 a.m. and make their way back to Sturgis.

鈥淭he Sturgis Kinsmen and Kinettes are in their 38th year of the mini-Telemiracle,鈥 said Daniel Wasylenchuk, co-chairman of Mini-Miracle. Eugene Boychuk is the other co-chairman.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Julianna Moore, the GX-94 star search winner, is scheduled to perform, along with a whole slate of local talent. Moore, 19, is originally from St. Lazare, Man. She is currently living in Brandon, while attending Brandon University鈥檚 music program as a voice major.

She has been singing and loving music for as long as she can remember, said a press release. Moore has represented Manitoba twice in Montreal in a French music competition.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Lacey Holowatyof Kelvington will also be part of the Sturgis Mini-Miracle talent line-up. Holowaty will also be a聽part of "Countdown to Telemiracle," which will feature performances by 11 of the province鈥檚 best acts.

Telemiracle Teddy is scheduled to make his rounds to the schools in the area the week prior to the event.

Sturgis Kinsmen and Kinettes will be travelling to Saskatoon to work some shifts at Telemiracle and will be making their own on-air presentation from what is raised during the Mini-Telemiracle on Sunday between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.

The annual Telemiracle broadcast will be from Conexus Arts Centre on March 3 and 4.
