      Numerous students at the Sturgis Composite High School received awards on June 21 to celebrate their accomplishments throughout the school year.
           Principal Brad Cameron welcomed the students and thanked teachers and students for a great school year.
           Each grade teacher was responsible for presenting certificates and acknowledged each student's participation in academics, athletics and other school activities.
           Awards for academic improvement were presented to students from grades 6 to 12: Chaz Jaeb, Hunter Mirva, Alyssa Stittle, Nolan Westermann, Tiara Yagelniski, Seth Rayner, Kacie Meroniuk, Eden Antoniuk, Jewel Howard, Hannah Gerbrandt, JR Puyos, Kara Pasiechnik, Lyka Puyos, Donnie Gannon and Tessa Rehaluk.
           Awards for most-improved student were presented to students in grades 6 to 12: Skylar Ryczak, Nolan Westermann, Allison Peterson, Kyla Tomas, Tiara Yagelniski, Rayanne Westermann, Salem Budd, JR Puyos, Lyla Puyos, Roberta Kaytor and Tessa Rehaluk.
           Spirit awards were presented to students who displayed school spirit and took part in school activities. The awards were presented to the following students in grades 6 to 12: Kaiden Masley, Hunter Mirva, Eloisa Vicente, Seth Rayner, Jalen Bayer, Bo Babiuk and Rhianna Olson.
           Honour roll awards for students who received a minimum 80 per cent average throughout the school year. Recipients were as follows:
           Grade 6, Joey Federuik, Kaiden Masley, Skylar Ryczak and Kourtney Gregory.
           Grade 7, Paige Hansen, Annias Schotts, Brynn Babiuk, Kylie Babiuk, Denzel Vargas, Daniell Mirva, Allison Peterson, Camron Secundiak and Keannu Albarracin.
           Grade 8, Eloisa Vicente, Kyla Tomas, Shae Peterson, Tiara Yagelniski and Wyatt Anaka.
           Grade 9, Shanae Olson, Rayanne Westermann, Carter Masley, Kacie Meroniuk, Kale Musey, Hannah Gerbrandt, Eden Antoniuk, Ethan Innes, Tory Reynolds, Knute Vallevand, Seth Rayner, Jewel Howard, Zane Bayer, Jorden Kardynal, Katie Chernyk and Salem Budd.
           Grade 10, Garrett Bazuik, Audrey Vargas, Sierra Meroniuk, Kara Pasiechnik, Mikayla Gregory, Jalen Bayer and JR Puyos.
           Grade 11, Peyton Secundiak, Tyler Antoniuk, Kaeleigh Folk, Bo Babiuk and Lyka Puyos.
           Grade 12, Kristiaan Rayner, Rhianna Olson, Allison Sopel, Tessa Rehaluk, Kyle Teron, Nicole Tureski and Derek deVries.
           The Crossroads Credit Union recognized students Joey Federuik, Allison Peterson, Shae Peterson, Carter Masley, Jalen Bayer, Tyler Antoniuk and Brooke Olson. Doreen Bochniuk made the presentation on behalf of the Crossroads Credit Union.
