The Sturgis Composite High School graduating class of 1966 met for a classic school reunion on the weekend of July 16 and 17.

"Forty-five members out of 86 original classmates met at the Sturgis READ Club for a registration and socializing at the kick off for the weekend," said Don Olson. "It was a great weekend that continued with a tour of the Sturgis Composite High School followed by a turkey and roast beef supper that was catered to by Chuck-wagon restaurant.  The food was excellent," he said.

Class-mates and their spouses came from Calgary, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Ardossan, Alberta, Prince Rupert, Yorkton, Beaumont, Estevan, Quinnel, Mississauga, Hamilton, Regina, Vancouver, Penticton, Dewdney, Winfield, Thompson, Canora, Clearwater, Lethbridge and Sturgis  and Preeceville local areas.

The program consisted of a revolving computer  slide presentation featuring  the students from  classes of 1965, 1966 and 1967. The presentation was prepared by Duane Johnson and Ron Hauber. The evening concluded with a social.

The last day featured a casual social of fellowship and visiting. Aileen Lubiniecki was the photographer for the weekend who captured all the memories.

"We are planning on sharing those memories through a USB memory stick that will be supplied to each student who attended. We want to express gratitude to the Western Producer who donated name tags; Yorkton Co-op for Pepsi products and The Co-operators in Yorkton for supplying the juices," said Olson.
