SASKATOON — The West Compost Depot in Saskatoon welcomed residents again as it reopened its doors on Thursday, Aug. 3, resuming its regular operating hours.

The reopening comes as planned roadwork on 11th Street concluded ahead of schedule, restoring unrestricted access to the facility.

Excited to serve the community again, the East Compost Depot will return to its regular operating hours, providing residents with more convenience and accessibility for their composting needs.

However, it's important to note that commercial haulers must now exclusively utilize the West Compost Depot for their compost disposal requirements.

Both the West and East Compost Depots offer essential services to the residents of Saskatoon, facilitating responsible waste management and environmentally-friendly practices.

The West Compost Depot, open seven days a week, including statutory holidays, operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:50 p.m., ensuring residents have ample time to drop off their compost materials.

For those looking to use the East Compost Depot, it operates five days a week, from Thursday through Monday, with closure on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The East Depot is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:50 p.m., allowing residents to manage their compost disposal during the designated days.

The city's Compost Depots are vital in promoting Saskatoon's sustainability and waste reduction efforts. Residents can easily find more information and details about the Compost Depots, including accepted materials and guidelines, by visiting .

With the reopening of the West Compost Depot and the East Compost Depot's return to regular hours, Saskatoon continues demonstrating its commitment to environmentally-friendly waste management practices, providing residents with convenient and eco-conscious solutions for compost disposal.
