Saskatoon air unit spots dangerous driving

Police responded to the area of Circle Drive Â鶹´«Ã½AV and Clarence Avenue for reports of a suspicious vehicle Thursday, observed by the Air Support Unit.

SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Service used air support, tactical support and its canine unit in arresting a man in connection with a dangerous driving incident on Thursday.

On April 21 at around 3 p.m., police responded to the area of Circle Drive Â鶹´«Ã½AV and Clarence Avenue for reports of a suspicious vehicle, observed by the Air Support Unit. Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over in the area of Zimmerman and Highway 5 but the suspect fled the area.

The vehicle was tracked by the ASU and eventually stopped in the 400 block of 115th Street West.

Tactical Support Unit and Canine Unit officers assisted in arresting a 33-year-old man.

The 33-year-old man faces charges of dangerous driving and evading police. He was also arrested on warrants from the Meadow Lake RCMP.
