Saskatoon: 18 year old injured in shooting on Ave. O Â鶹´«Ã½AV

The SPS Serious Assault Unit, Patrol officers and Forensic Identification Section are investigating the shooting.

SASKATOON — An 18-year-old man is recovering from a gunshot wound suffered Thursday night on the 100 block of Avenue O Â鶹´«Ã½AV.

A man, still wearing a hospital tag, told SASKTODAY.ca late Friday that he had been shot in the left leg while at his aunt's residence, but that he was OK. He said he didn't know who shot him.

He spoke with SASKTODAY.ca near the site of a shooting as identified by the Saskatoon Police Service in a release, although police have not confirmed the identity of the man or exact address of the residence.

Saskatoon police said in a release they received a report of a shooting at around 7 p.m. Feb. 2. Upon arrival at the scene, said the release, officers found an 18-year-old man suffering from a non-life threatening injury, consistent with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

No arrests have been made currently, say police, but they say they do not believe the incident was random in nature.

The SPS Serious Assault Unit, Patrol officers and Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate and are requesting anyone with information call 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
