Laketown Leaders are hosting peer led "Active Aging" program of stretching, strength, balance and flexibility on Mondays at 10:00 a.m. and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. in the Stirling Room. This is sponsored by Sunrise Health and Parkland Valley Sport, Culture and Recreation. This is open to everyone!

Irene Kerr, Son, Jim and wife Joanne flew on "Sun Wing" to Dreams, Mexico for a holiday from Dec. 17 to Dec. 23. For a holiday in the sun at an ocean view hotel. They booked a guide to see sites like markets and churches. The guide said "Saskatchewan huh: Football crazy." Irene saw such healthy, tiny and delightful children and the cuisine is for tourists so no problem finding something to eat one is used to.

Laketown Players present "The Scrap Heap Kid and the Alley Cat" comedy/drama. There are still tickets available for Sun., Feb. 9, 2014. Call Phyllis at 306-744-2990.

Visiting the Val Trowell Family over the holidays was: Mark and Scott of Vancouver, Bronwen, George and Shannon Joyes of Edmonton, Doug and Corrine of Hewerd as well as Glen and Derek of Saskatoon.

Saltcoats Museum and Historical Society will again be hosting a CURIO SHOP in the basement of the hall during the performances of the Laketown Players in February. Anyone wanting to donate small household items or jewellery is invited to do so/ items can be dropped off at the Town Office during regular business hours. Funds raised will be going to the restoration of the museum. Any items not sold during the play will not be returned, but donated to Salvation Army. Saltcoats Public Skating times are: Tuesday to Saturday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays is ½ ice with no pucks. Single skate fee is $3.00, Season pass $50.00 and family pass $120.00. Mark your calendar for a Musical evening on Wed., Jan. 15 at 7:00 p.m. held in Saltcoats Anglican Church. It usually ends up with sing along too! All are welcome and refreshments are provided.

Saltcoats Library is hosting a regular Fund raiser on Sat., Jan. 25, 2014 from 2:30 to 3:30 at the Stirling Room. The Robbie Burns Tea is $6.00 a person with door prize.

Saltcoats Minor Sports keeps the rink open with main fundraiser Bingos. Dates needing volunteers to work Bingo are: Jan. 14, 5:00 to 10:30 p.m., Jan. 24, 12:00 to 4:40 p.m., Feb, 17, 5:00 to 10:30 p.m., Mar. 13, 12:00 to 4:30 p.m. and Mar. 23, 5:00 to 10:30 p.m. It is possible to "sponsor a worker" (hire someone to work a shift).
