聽 聽 聽Kelsey Marchand of Regina explained her research on turtles in Saskatchewan in a special presentation in Preeceville.
聽 聽 聽Marchand explained in detail what she documented in her research about what turtle species are found in Saskatchewan during a presentation that had been sponsored by the Kelsey Ecological Society at the Preeceville Club 60 on October 23.
聽 聽 聽鈥淢y presentation was聽 a combination of a variety of topics, including learning what turtle species are found in Saskatchewan, as well as discussing my masters鈥� research on a population living in Regina,鈥� said Marchand, 聽a candidate for a master of science degree at the Department of Biology at the University of Regina. 鈥淚 focused on where they go, what habitats they like the most, and what they eat,鈥� she said.
聽 聽 聽Marchand is currently in her second year of study with supervisors Dr. Chris Somers (University of Regina associate professor, Canada 聽Research Chair in Genes and the Environment), and Dr. Ray Poulin (Royal Saskatchewan Museum, curator of vertebrate zoology, and head of research and collections).
聽 聽 聽The project is a multi-partner funded program lead by the Friends of Wascana.
