Preeceville talent show features 11 performers

The Preeceville and District Mushers Rendezvous kicked off on February 2 with a talent show at the Preeceville Legion Hall where 11 artists and dancers were featured. Rhonda Cook was the emcee.

            The Preeceville and District Mushers Rendezvous kicked off on February 2 with a talent show at the Preeceville Legion Hall where 11 artists and dancers were featured.

            Rhonda Cook was the emcee. Jeannette Jaques, her granddaughter, Shelby Cook and her mother Rhonda Cook sang O Canada prior to the beginning of the talent show.

Audience members had the opportunity to vote for their favourite act and make donations as their votes. 

            "The talents show went over great with a lot of different talent," said Brittany Halkyard, one of the organizers.

            Studio Dance One club members performed four dances: creative movement, tap, hip hop and senior dance. Blakely Firman, Dylan Descalchuk and Charlotte Gulka
performed a creative movement dance to Try everything.
            Emerson Strykowski, Addison Danielson, Alexis Firman, Paje Reynolds, Saphira Anaka, Jenna Anaka and Maggie Bartel performed a tap dance to Did I Mention.
            Sarah Masko, Claire Masko, Emerson Strykowski, Addison Danielson, Chloe Bourassa and Karley Buchinski danced a hip hop routine to Can't back down.
             Hannah Gerbrandt, Chloe Chornomitz, Olivia Chornimitz and Katryna Englot  performed the senior girls dance to Wanna be Like You.

            Brittany Vewchar performed a solo.

            Hein Bertram performed a musical number.

            Alecia Shuba performed a Ukrainian dance solo.

            Jillian Newton performed a flute solo.

            Alecia Shuba, Eva Romanchuk and Maycee Johnson performed a Ukrainian dance.

            The Evangels band of Tracy Lagrve, Ben Karcha and Simon Hanson performed a musical number.

            The Amazing Band performed a musical selection.

            The Woodland Chorus, comprised of Willie Jakubowski, Ray Scarth and Jack Jaques, entertained.

            Jeff Davis, Les DeRuiter and Laura Davis concluded the evening by performing a trio act.

            The favourite act voted by the audience was the Woodland Chorus

            The evening concluded with a dessert and beverages.
