The Preeceville Minor Hockey League sponsored a power skate program geared towards strengthening and improving players’ skills.

The program was taught by Derek Serdachny of Yorkton at the Preeceville Skating Arena from October 18 to October 27.

"There were a total of five sessions over the course of two weeks with instructions geared towards all age groups in the Preeceville Minor Hockey League," said Serdachny. "It was a high energy instructional power skating program geared to hockey skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, puck handling, speed and endurance.

“Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations," said Serdachny.

Serdachny has played hockey his entire life and said he enjoys sharing his knowledge with players to help them play better hockey.
