Students from grades 1 to 6 were acknowledged for their hard work and dedication throughout the school year during an awards program on June 28.

            Erin Stolar, teacher, introduced each student for his or her participation in numerous sports and academics, and had each student stand and be acknowledged.

            Leslea Hansen, teacher, reminded students of the importance of reading through the summer.

            Megan Morten, teacher, acknowledged Rachel Kashuba for her service as an education assistant. Kashuba will be the new lunch person responsible for serving hot lunches out of the school's servery in the new school season.

            Sheila Klebeck, teacher, had the task of acknowledging Laura Chartrand, who will be leaving the school to teach in Norquay.

            Crossroads Credit Union recognized students from Kindergarten to Grade 6.

            "The Crossroads Credit Union Student Recognition Award is based on Crossroads’ values of democratic principals, commitment to community, pride in what we do and devotion to bettering the lives of those on our community," said Doreen Bochnuik, representative.

            Students acknowledged in Kindergarten to Grade 6 were Ethan Balawyder, Ireland Zuk, Lily Kinneard, Deagan Anaka, Ally Apland, Maicey Scheller, Riley Turchinetz and Mia Mitchell.

            Staff and students were lined up to form the number 150 in acknowledgement in Canada's 150^th birthday.
