Preeceville Gateway Co-op card lock almost ready

After many delays the proposed card lock for Preeceville is finally becoming a reality. Gateway Cooperative board members were joined by Federated Cooperative members and the contractor as they turned a shovel of sod to kick off the work on August 4.

After many delays the proposed card lock for Preeceville is finally becoming聽 a reality. Gateway Cooperative board members were joined by Federated Cooperative members and the contractor as they turned a shovel of sod to kick off the work on August 4. The聽 card lock site is located on the east side of the Town of Preeceville. The 10.9 acres is scheduled to be the future home of the C-store and lumber yard.

Main Line Industries had been awarded the tender and after the ground breaking ceremony work began on the site on August 6.

The three 500,000 litre tanks have been installed with most of the ground work completed" said Dan Fairburn, Preeceville Coop branch manager. " The next step is waiting for the light posts to be installed, signage and the electronics shed to be moved in.

Once the shed is ready, SaskPower will install power to the station. When that is al completed we should be able to be in operational fairly quickly,鈥欌 he said.
