The Preeceville Volunteer Fire Department received an early Christmas present December 4 when members picked up its new fire truck from the border.

The 2002 American La France fire truck originated in Florida and was shipped from the Swenson RV dealership by Roman Equipment to the border in Minot. From the border the Preeceville Fire Department members drove it back to Preeceville.

"The new truck will allow us to transport men and equipment to a fire safely," said Cliff Prestie, fire department member. "We had been originally looking for a newer rescue van but this truck came up for sale and was a better fit for the department.

“We will use our own equipment to outfit the new truck. This new truck will replace the rescue van and the older pump truck," he said.

The Town of Preeceville provided the financing for the new truck.
