SASKATOON — Saskatoon Police Service officer arrested three people for having drugs, weapons, and outstanding warrants following a traffic stop.
On Wednesday, at approximately 2 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 100 block of Avenue H Â鶹´«Ã½AV. It was soon discovered that the vehicle was providing a ride share service to three passengers.
Upon further questioning of the vehicle’s occupants, a man and woman were identified and found to have outstanding warrants; both were arrested without incident.
Another man, appearing to be under the influence of an intoxicant, was observed to have several uncapped needles around him and a bag of methamphetamine that he had tried to conceal.
Officers attempted to provide aid to the man before learning that he was not intoxicated but rather pretending to be in an effort to avoid them; he resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
The driver of the vehicle was released without charges.
In total, the traffic stop resulted in the seizure of one can of bear spray, an imitation firearm, two bladed weapons, 14.48 grams of methamphetamine, one mobile phone, $235 in cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
A 31-year-old Saskatoon woman is facing multiple weapons- and firearms-related charges in addition to charges relating to drug trafficking/possession and possession of the proceeds of crime. She was also found to have an outstanding warrant.
A 38-year-old Saskatoon man is facing multiple weapons- and firearms-related charges in addition to charges relating to drug trafficking/possession and possession of the proceeds of crime. He was also found to have outstanding warrants and in violation of court-imposed conditions.
A second 38-year-old Saskatoon man was arrested on outstanding warrants.
