One teacher new to Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Centre this year

The only teacher new to the Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Centre this year is a member of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation.

Alexander Tawpisim, a member of Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, was hired to teach grades 6 and 7 students at Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Centre this year.

The only teacher new to the Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Centre this year is a member of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation.
Alexander Tawpisim of Muskeg Lake Cree Nation which is located about 100 kilometres north of Saskatoon, was hired to teach the grades 6 and 7 students.
鈥淲e have 21 students in the combined class,鈥 Tawpisim said last week.
A graduate of Mount Royal College in Saskatoon in 2002, Tawpisim obtained his bachelor of education degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2011.
He taught grades 3, 4 and 5 students at Kihiw Wachiston School at Muskeg Lake Cree Nation for a year and then Grade 4 students at Chief Little Pine School at Little Pine First Nation located west of North Battleford the next year.
Tawpisim, who moved to Kamsack with his wife Kristin Keshane, who also teaches at Keeseekoose Chiefs, is the father of one daughter, Keisha, 11.
鈥淚 like travel,鈥 he said when asked about his interests. 鈥淚鈥檓 always trying to learn and improve and to provide the best education possible.鈥
