Norquay Lutheran rummage sale raises funds for charity

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The Norquay Emmanuel Lutheran Church held聽its semi-annual聽two-day rummage, tea聽and bake sale on October 22 and聽23.

Organizers said that they enjoyed a successful sale with everything available, from soup to clothing, ornaments, household items, baking, books, puzzles, movies,聽bikes聽and kids toys.

The leftover items are never kept from sale to sale but are taken to places that accept used items, such as the Mackenzie Centre in Preeceville, Value Village or the Salvation Army, they said.

Every year the Emmanuel women鈥檚 group sends $1,200 to $1,400 to various charities, including the Nelson聽Lake Bible Camp, Canadian Lutheran World Relief, On Eagles Wings, LAMP (Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots), Teen Challenge, Christian Blind, and Shelwyn House.

鈥淎lthough it is hard work to set up for the sale, then pack up and deliver leftovers, we enjoy fun and fellowship and by next year will be willing to do it over again,鈥 an organizer said.
