New executive installed for St. Patrick’s CWL

The St. Patrick’s Preeceville Catholic Women’s League installed a new executive committee with Kathleen Pitt, past president, welcoming the new members. The induction ceremony was held at the Sturgis Roman Catholic Church on April 24.

The St. Patrick’s Preeceville Catholic Women’s League installed a new executive committee with Kathleen Pitt, past president, welcoming the new members.

The induction ceremony was held at the Sturgis Roman Catholic Church on April 24.

Installed were: Donna Balawyder, president; Pitt, past president and archivist; Brittany Halkyard, spiritual leader and treasurer; Laura Sliva, vice-president and organizer of members; Nellie Knihniski, Christian family life; Bea Sekel, health and education; Arlene Lingl, secretary and community life representative.

A pin of service for 35 years was presented to Ivy Krauss who was not in attendance at the induction.

“We are happy to have nine new members, who also received their pin,” said Balawyder.

New members are: Anne Jaye Dela Cruz, Sydney Giddings, Girly Javelona, Natashia Lingl, Mary Grace McLaughlin, Delores Orban, Bernice Stroeder, Grace Singkala and Lillian Singkala. Members who attended the diocesan convention in Regina in April are: Donna Balawyder, Arlene Lingl, Vicky Haskewich and Natashia Lingl.

On August 31 the group is scheduled to sponsor a palliative care session which will be open to the public.
