Minor hockey day featured the Preeceville minor hockey teams

The Preeceville Skating Arena was a busy centre as hockey teams took their turns in action on minor hockey day on January 23. The Preeceville IPs, the youngest team, was the first team on the ice as the youngsters took on the Wadena Jaquars.

            The Preeceville IPs, the youngest team, was the first team on the ice as the youngsters took on the Wadena Jaquars. The final score was an 8-4 loss for the Pats. Scoring were Trae Peterson (3 goals) and Carsyn Galiz.

            The atoms were next on the ice when they faced off against the Yorkton Terriers. The atoms controlled the game from the beginning to the end with a huge 13-2 win. Scoring were: Chaz Jaeb (2 goals), Kaiden Masley (3 goals), Brady Kashuba (2 goals), Aaron Cudal, Zachary Sorgen (3 goals), Tate Bayer and Zander Purdy. Assists were made by Nathan Anaka, Aaron Cudal and Kaiden Masley.

            The bantams played against Melville Millionaires.

            The midgets concluded the day in a battle that concluded with a 3-3 tie with Fort Knox. Scoring were: Dreyton Paul (unassisted), Tyler Shankowsky, assisted by Steven Kardynal, and Cole Wiwcharuk, assisted by Bryce Pelechaty.

            The Preeceville peewee team was the next local team on the ice and the peewees came up with a 7-4 win against Melville on January 24. Scoring were: Trever Geistlinger (2 goals), Todd Pankratz (2 goals), Dustin Shankowsky (2 goals) and Brynn Babiuk. Assists were made by Brynn Babiuk, Pankratz, Jillian Tonn, Gesitlinger and Shae Peterson.
