The Preeceville and District Heritage Museum brought back a taste of the past on June 30 with a 1950s fun night.

            The evening kicked off with volunteers dressing up in 1950’s apparel. Ice-cream sundaes, floats, milk shakes, banana splits and special home-made lemonade were served throughout the evening.

            Music was supplied by an eight-track machine with 50s era music.

            A show-and-shine featured 11 entries, including a variety of cars, trucks and tractors from the local area.

            Winner for antique category was Ray Penner of Preeceville with his 1929 Model A. The prize was donated by Home Hardware.

             In the vintage category, Bob Knutson of Sturgis won first place for his 1953 Ford F100 truck with the prize having been donated by Co-op.

            In the classic category, Mark Jakubowski of Preeceville won first place for his 1969 Charger with the prize donated by Preeceville Parts.

            In the unique category, Peter Stachiw of Preeceville won first place with his horseless carriage entry. The prize was donated by Preeceville Salvage.

            Other entries included: a 1985 Pontiac hearse entered by Ron Descalchuk of Sturgis and a 1957 Chevy two-door Bel Air entered by Laurie Meberg; a 1929 Model A entered by Darwin Chalupiak; a 1972 Cadillac entered by Ray Penner; a 1969 El Camino entered by Phil Murrin; a 1948 Dodge one-ton truck entered by Lyle Baron, and a 1978 Corvette entered by Gerry Gulka, all of Preeceville.
