PPC supporters attend Monday's indoor election night rally at the Saskatoon Inn without masks despite Saskatchewan issuing a public health order a few days ago.

SASKATOON - An election night rally featuring People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier held Monday at the Saskatoon Inn & Conference Centre may have taken the freedom party message too far.

It appears the Saskatoon Police Service may be investigating the rally of PPC supporters where most who attended were not wearing masks and some were allegedly unvaccinated.

“We see and hear many people’s tweets expressing concerns about masking at a local election event. As the concerns are regarding public health order, we will work with our partners in Public Health to investigate this further,” said SPS on their social media platform Twitter Monday evening.

Premier Scott Moe recently announced that Saskatchewan will be seeing a new slate of COVID-19 measures, as a response to a rising fourth-wave of infections in the province.

Friday, Saskatchewan residents were again required to wear face masks in all indoor public places.

Additionally, despite previous insistence from the premier that Saskatchewan. would not be implementing vaccine passports, a proof of vaccination policy is also set to begin on Oct. 1.
