Local youth stays true and wins provincial archery

Carter Scheller of Ketchen, a member of the Sturgis Archery club, remained focused and brought home a gold medal from the Saskatchewan Archery Association Junior Olympic Program and Age class championships in Prince Albert on April 14.

Scheller shot a 242 in the archer category.

"We are very proud of him and his accomplishments," said Brad Cameron, coach.

Other Sturgis shooters who participated were: Nolan Westermann, Wyatt Mastrachuk, Gavin Swiderski, Hunter Nelson and Wyatt Scheller.

Westermann shot in the champion bowman-champion archer category.

Mastrachuk shot in the olympian 230-250 class.

Nelson shot in the expert bowman-expert archer category.

Swiderski shot in the olympian 255-275 class.

Wyatt Scheller shot in the master yeoman category.
