SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Service’s K-9 and Air Support units teamed up to make an arrest after a driver attempted to evade officers on Tuesday.
At around 10:45 p.m., on Dec. 7, K-9 Unit officers attempted to pull over a truck in the 300 block of Avenue Q Â鶹´«Ã½AV. The driver did not stop but the ASU was also monitoring the situation.
The K-9 Unit and Patrol officers were able to fall back as air support tracked the vehicle, which eventually stopped in a parking lot in the 300 block of Avenue H Â鶹´«Ã½AV.
ASU was able to continue tracking the driver and recorded him hiding in a back yard before continuing to flee the area.
The SPS K-9 Unit located the driver near the intersection of 20th Street and Avenue H Â鶹´«Ã½AV. He was taken into custody without further incident.
When searched, the 26-year-old man was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
The 26-year-old man faces charges of Dangerous Driving, Evading Police and Possession of Methamphetamine.
