“During these concerning and uncertain times, it is important to remember that Kamsack is a strong community,” said a release from the town office
The municipality is following public health recommendations and communicating with Ken Thompson, emergency measures organization (EMO) co-ordinator and fire chief, as well as the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA).
By following provincial requirements and public health recommendations, everyone plays a direct role in limiting the impact of COVID-19 on oneself, neighbours and the community as a whole.
To support these efforts, the town office, the public works shop and the water treatment plant are closed to the public, but remain in operation. The Broda Sportsplex and OCC Hall are closed until further notice. The Crowstand Centre is closed until further notice; but, as of the date of this article, the Vet Clinic continues to operate as normal.
“We understand that you probably have questions for the town. We hope to address most of these through the following. In order to protect themselves, town staff will not enter any residences or buildings, except in an extreme emergency. Contact town office for further clarification.
Other public and private buildings have also adjusted their normal operations for the time being. “A number of local groups, organizations and businesses remain in operation and are prepared to meet your needs. If you have questions about their operations, please contact the specific group or business,” continued the release.
“We strongly recommend following the Government of Canada and the Government of Saskatchewan plans, requirements and recommendations. Take care and do not panic. We will get through this together. The Garden of Saskatchewan will continue to grow,” the release concluded.
