There were 102 guests registered at Canora Hospital Auxiliary’s fall fundraiser, which included indulging in a large selection of pies for the fall coffee (tea)-and-pie event.

There was an increase of about 20 people in the attendance, said Lorie Wasyliw, auxiliary president. The Auxiliary members were also happy to have some residents from the Gateway Lodge attend.

The Auxiliary members had a wide variety of pies available for patrons to choose from, said Wasyliw. In addition, Donna McCormick and Patty Kolodziejski also volunteered to make some pies. Kolodziejski also volunteered to help serve coffee.

The tea is an annual event held by the Auxiliary with all the funds raised used to purchase equipment for the hospital to function at its best, said Wasyliw. “We are able to provide care to citizens in our community and surrounding areas.â€

Through the fundraisers and donations received by the auxiliary, it is able to make significant donations each year. In 2015, the Auxiliary donated $2,000 to STARS air ambulance, $2,000 towards the CT scanner purchased for Yorkton, and $8,277 to furnish a medical clinic exam room.
